About the Event

On 20 March, SQCC visited the fifth graders of Seaton Elementary School for fifth session of the Embassy Adoption Program (EAP), a partnership program between DC Public Schools and Washington Performing Arts.

SQCC staff spoke to the students about the global issue of climate change, with respect to the world in general and Oman in particular. Students learned how climate change could negatively affect nature, the environment and the habitats of animals.

Later on, Students made their own mini gardens by planting small cacti in terrariums to visualize and experience the similarities between the ecosystems in both Oman and parts of the U.S. The session aims to prepare students to represent Oman at the DCPS Mini United Nations, which will be held in June at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
