SQCC Hosted MENASA

SQCC hosted an event on 17 February for the Congressional Middle Eastern & North African Staff Association (MENASA). The group toured SQCC’s permanent exhibition where they learned about the aflaj irrigation system, Oman’s maritime history, and the role of frankincense in Omani hospitality. SQCC Executive Director Kathleen Ridolfo gave a brief overview of SQCC programs. Thereafter, Ms. Hiba Abdul Khaliq, Political Advisor at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman Oman gave a presentation on Oman’s foreign policy. The evening also included reading a short untitled poem written by a young Omani orator and poet Mohammed bin Omar Al Balushi, and was recited in both Arabic and English. The group concluded their visit with a networking event and reception also attended by diplomats from the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman.
