SQCC staff participated in a multicultural fair at Garfield Elementary to introduce students to Oman!

On May 29, 2014 SQCC staff participated in a multicultural fair at Garfield Elementary, organized by Communities In Schools of the Nation's Capital, a nonprofit organization leading the effort in school drop-out prevention. SQCC held a Flat Omani workshop for several groups of third, fourth, and fifth graders. Flat Omani introduces students to Oman and its culture through traditional Omani clothing. The activity focuses on dressing and decorating an Omani girl or boy in dishdasha (dress), sarwal (pants), waqaya (head scarf), and nahl (sandal).
